Week 6 Picks

The NFL season is now in full swing and teams are beginning to show their true colors. Week five saw it's share of upsets with the visiting Seahawks defeating the favored Giants and the Raiders putting away the Texans on a drive-ending interception in the end zone to seal their emotional tribute to their recently departed owner, Al Davis.

What was most surprising about week five however, was the competitiveness of some of the so-called mismatch games. Fans tuned in to see the Broncos fall just short of a late comeback versus the Chargers and also saw the hapless Panthers nearly dethrone the Saints losing by only a field goal. If you take away the Forty-Niners' 48-3 scorching of the Buccaneers, week five offered competitive games throughout the league. Once again, the "any given Sunday" theorem has been proven.

The Philadelphia Eagles continued their trek into the depths of ineptitude with a fourth loss of their young season in Buffalo, The Chargers continued their dominance over the league's bottom dwellers, and the Lions won soundly once again versus a respectable team in the Chicago Bears. With so many blurred lines between the goods and the greats this week, it will likely be a wild week six.
